My turkey ...A perfect post to begin a perfect day! My turkey has been in the oven for about an hour and our home is already smelling like Thanksgiving at my Nana's home all those years ago. Jane and my husband are already headed to Newport, RI for a Turkey Trot 5 mile race that Jane runs in every Thanksgiving. I usually try to to it too, but this year I am babysitting for Janie's 2 beautiful doggies... one would eat ALL of my desserts and breads (even though I put them way up high) and even the ingredients on my counters if he isn't supervised! I love my granddoggies, so as they snuggle, I am getting ready to peel potatoes and all that good stuff. We have added 3 guests to our dinner... my husband's brother and wife and son. They usually have a houseful of people, but this year, with Flo being gone... Rick was moved to tears with the thought of coming to our home with just family. Rick is a fabulous cook, so I am excited to see what he brings! Jane already put in her requests! When Jane and Barry are back from Newport, she will make homemade cranberry sauce (her recipe) and homemade apple crisps! Ah. Audrey and her family are in Pittsburgh. Adam and his family are in Philadelphia. Keith and his family went to North Conway, NH (they have a condo there) for dinner and maybe some skiing! I miss my 9 grandchildren, but I will have my mom here. The house is quiet, and this is the first time in years that I have all of my mom's best crystal out... (can't to do that when the grandkids are here!). Bu you know what?... each moment is precious, and I am so thankful that my kids and grandkids are all happy and safe. I am thankful for my mom... she is the last grandmother and each holiday with her is precious. I am thankful, like you, for my wonderful husband. I know exactly what you mean... and I love him more each day, if that is possible!

And I am thankful for your friendship... you are a wonderful, funny, kind and perfect woman. Your family is so fortunate to have you. Please have a perfect day wit your beautiful children and grandchildren!!Sharon - Mom Generationshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11101711725895535752noreply@blogger.com
