Dress up...
I Abbysat last night for a few hours. Abby wanted to go upstairs to my bedroom and play. She LOVES clothes and shoes. I have never known an almost 2 yr. old who loves to put on pretty dresses and primp as much as she does. I opened up my cedar chest that I keep my wedding gown in and other sentimental items. I found the flower girl dress that my daughter, Steph wore at around age 3. Actually the dress was a size 3T and Abby wears a 2T. Abby will be 2 next month. When she saw the dress, her eyes got bigger than saucers and she immediately wanted me to put it on her. Does she not look like a little princess? This dress is 29 years old. She got tired after a while of posing and wanted to lay down and wrap up, but wanted to keep the dress on. After her parents arrived, we did talk her into taking the dress off and putting on her p.j's. We told her she can try it on again when she comes back over and that made her happy. In a few years I will try it on Ivy and take pictures. I am having fun with my little girls! Oh, and while wearing the dress, we watched American Idol and danced. She twirled and had a good ole' time.....

Dayna update
Dayna did have surgery yesterday to open up both sides of the breasts where the infection is to drain the infection. They put packing in and are changing the packing every 5 hours until clear. She's on very strong antibiotics. She did very well during the surgery and I got to see her last night on the web cam. Her hubby, Rob had his laptop at the hospital. I will keep you updated. Her little Evan (Bubby) is gettin' all kinds of love while away. She misses him terribly. Let's pray she comes home soon.....Thank you!

Prayers for Dayna
My niece, Dayna, gave birth Jan. 15 to Evan. She was unable to fully breastfeed due to some complications. It really killed her to not to be able to breastfeed. Shortly afterwards, she developed pain in one of her breasts and then a redness in an area. Yesterday she went to the dr. and she was told it is a staff infection, so she was put in the hospital on I.V. antibiotics. If this does not help the problem, she will be undergoing surgery. Please say a prayer for Dayna today, that the meds will take care of the problem. She has a baby to rock and drool over and needs to be 100% healed. My sister, Diane, is taking care of Evan during this, so pray for her also, for strength. It has been hard on her watching her daughter go thru this. Dayna also has 2 buldging disks in her back and has been in a lot of pain with that also. God can heal that also. I pray for a good report today. Thank you friends!

Power in Prayer
I don't want to bore you with a post about sickness and spending the weekend in bed. I believe in the power of prayer. I just wanted to share this scripture with you this beautiful Sunday morning. 1 Peter 2:24. Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree,(cross) that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye (we) are Healed! You see, I woke up this morning to reading a comment on my blog that was a prayer for me and my healing. Then I open my bible to find a copy of an email from a few years ago from a precious friend and it was speaking on this verse. So, I just wanted to share this with you this morning. If you are sick in body, mind or spirit, please let God know and accept your healing. Happy Sunday! Let us Rejoice and be Glad!

Angel of Hearts
Ok, so you are probably thinking, Is she crazy? Why is an angel tree topper holding red hearts? I confess.....I just took down my Christmas tree last Sunday. I decided to decorate it for Valentine's Day with Red heart ornaments. I came upon a huge clearance sale a few years ago on these red hearts and went wild, buying up all they had. I loved my little tree will all my snowbaby ornaments and tons of white lights, it just made me happy to look at it. I also came upon these little doll ornaments, would you believe at a yard sale during the summer? There were about 20 little dolls with a little ribbon on the back for hanging on the tree. They still had the original price tag on them. I think I paid a few dollars for the whole bag of them. My hubby asked me why I just didn't leave it up for Easter and hang eggs or rabbits on it. I actually thought about it but needed the table and space to put the new t.v.

Buyer Beware, not so Toasty!
I was sucked into ordering this so called deal when I received the advertisement via email. They are NOT the same as the Slanket. (I got my parents the Slanket for Christmas and they are the real deal...very nice and worth the money.)
The add says, buy one get one free. Well, when they arrived today they are as thin as a papertowel and are so cheaply made with the stitching on the edges and they charged $15.90 shipping and handling. The packaged weighed about 1 lb. The color looks like baby food green peas. They were called Snuggies on the Add, but after you order them and get your confirmation number, the name changes to Toasties. I called the long distance number on the email, and did get a customer service 12 year old who answered the phone. I complained about the poor quality and the mis-information about buy one get one free told him it was a scam and I wanted a full refund. He said I can send them back but will not be refunded the $15.90. I asked to speak to a manager and he said they would tell me the same thing as he did. So, I learned my lesson. But, it did come with 2 cheap plastic book lights!

The Bachelor
Bye Bye Jillian....I know there are a lot of Jillian fans out there, but I have a favorite and it is Melissa. I think Jillian is beautiful and intelligent but she has an annoying grunt to her voice, almost like she has a stomach ache and is grunting to talk. I know, must just be me. She wants a Best Friend, but Jason wants more than a best friend. I have to admit, I did love her family. I do hope we get to meet Melissa's family before he proposes to her or Holly. Holly is beautiful, and she did come out of her shell. We have to wait 2 weeks to see who gets the final rose. DeAnna is coming back as a twist. She missed her chance. I really don't think he will take her back. What do you think?

Happy 8th Birthday Noah
Noah, Carter & Gray Today at Fun Inflatables. I met them on my lunch hour and captured some fun pictures.
Today is a very special day. My first born grandson, Noah is "8" years old. This picture describes how I feel about my precious Noah. He has loved polar bears since he learned to talk. He even adopted "Lee" the polar bear at Lincoln Park Zoo. We celebrated yesterday by going bowling. Would you believe ALL of my grandkids beat me? Of course, they had bumper guards in their lane. I am blaming it on not wanting to break a nail, so I was careful and I had a very lightweight ball. Happy Birthday Noah.....You are very special! Love you soooooooo much!

Coach for Valentines Day? A girl can dream......
Maybe the Valentine Fairy will see this post and grant me my Valentine wish. It is low in calories and lasts a long time, unlike candy & flowers. By the time you pay for a floral delivery, you could almost pay for this. A girl can dream........of course I have the least expensive one as a first choice, but if you are really feeling generous, the second choice will do.
TGIF
This is sorta how my head feels this morning. I started feeling not so good yesterday morning when I woke up. I managed to get thru the day at work drinking hot green tea and honey and taking some good meds from a co-worker which started kicking whatever was trying to take over my body. I made one of my favorite soups when I feel like this. Good ole' Campbell's Bean with Bacon and Ritz crackers. I went to bed early so I would feel up to coming to work today. I'm sure a few days of rest and taking care of myself, I will be good as new. Happy Friday!

Honest Scrap Award
I was given the Honest Scrap Award by Bacardi Mama. The object is to list 10 scraps of information about yourself and pass the award on.
1. My grand-kids are my heart.
2. I spoke up in Wal-mart the other morning when there was only 1 register open and a line of people and workers standing around gabbing. They quickly opened another register. Sometimes I wish I weren't so bold. But I spoke in a nice tone. Get R Done!
3. I could eat pizza every day.
4. I love simple things, like fresh flowers in a vase on my desk at work.
5. I hate clutter on my kitchen table, such as mail or other items that don't belong there. Puts me in a bad mood quick.
6. I have always wanted to work at a funeral home.
7. I have sang at weddings and funerals since I was 17 years old.
8. I won't go out in public without make-up or hair done.
9. I use to ride the train when my niece and I worked down town Chicago, we decided that kind of life wasn't for us, so after getting off the train one morning on our way to work, we both went to a pay phone, I called her off and she called me off and we both quit on the spot. We got back on the train and headed back home. Funny thing was, it was 9:00 in the morning and I ate my sack lunch on the way back home....
10. I believe that prayer changes things and I do believe in Miracles. Read for yourself over at crooked eyebrows post today.
I am going to give this award to these wonderful bloggers:

Happy 78th Birthday Dad....
Today is my dad's birthday. When they made him they threw away the mold. I showed up before work this morning with breakfast from good ole' McD's and a poster size card and gift from my sister, brother-in-law and hubby and I. We got him some of his favorite sugar free goodies and a Red Lobster gift card. What do you get someone who has everything. We are meeting today for lunch to keep the celebration going. He loves his birthday, let me tell you! He usually tells people a month before his birthday that it's almost his birthday. So dad, have a Wonderful Day! Love you.
Ivy, Gray & Steph surprised "Great-Poppal" at lunch.....These are such sweet pictures! He has 4 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren......

bye bye naomi
BYE BYE Naomi.....sorry you didn't get a rose last night, but it was time for you to go. You are a very nice person but you are not ready to settle down and become a mommy...in my opinion. I could not believe what her mom did when she brought Jason home with her. Talk about first impressions, a funeral for a bird? Hoola hooping in the back yard? The dad first talking about a relationship with Jesus and then the mom talking about reincarnation? Ok, interesting family. I did feel a little bad for her talking about wanting to have a family to spend holidays with and how unsettling her childhood was. It's getting very hard to predict who Jason will end up with. I sorta think it's between Melissa & Jillian. I loved Jillian's family, especially grandma & her dad was a hoot. Melissa is sort of a mystery with not seeing her family and the friends not knowing her family either. I like Holly too, but not for Jason. What's with the hats at Holly's house? If you watch, who do you think will end up with the fnal rose?

Keepin' up with the grandkids
I took a vacation day from work on Friday to Boysit while Steph was away at BlissDom'09.
My grandson, Noah is waiting for the bus to pick him up for school. He looks like a dot in all that snow. Carter was not feeling well, so he stayed home from school. He rested all day because we had plans to go over my son's (uncle Nate) and play Wii after Noah got home from school.

This is Carter & Noah bowling. Carter got upset cause his brother got more spares than he did. They both had such a good time playing Wii. Gray even played a racing one and liked crashing into all the walls...that's Gray!
Gray is enjoying Aunt Elsa's valentine cookies she baked....and so is Abby...as you can see by the look on her face.
Abby & Gray played so nicely together with the miniature animals.

Saturday morning my son & Elsa took Abby to play at Fun Inflatables at our local mall. It is a big room filled with inflatable jumping things. Abby wants to have her Birthday party there. It was a lot of fun watching her run all over, in and out of the many play areas. Grampa and I went along to watch the fun and snap some pictures.

Mirror Mirror on the wall
I got a little emotional last night while "Abbysitting". Abby loves to get into my jewelry box and play dress up, so when I was at the half price sale at Goodwill on Saturday, I found the perfect little jewelry box/purse perfect for her size. I put some of my not so precious jewelry in the purse that opens to a jewelry box, which amazed her! She stood for over an hour putting bracelets on then taking them off, neatly tucking them in the jewelry box, picking up the antique mirror I found last summer at a swap meet for only a few $'s. The reason why I got so emotional, while watching this innocent, precious little angel primping and dressing up like a princess, I fast forwarded to 13 years, 16 years, 18 years, 20 years.....Someday she will be getting ready for her first formal dance, date, prom and Lord help me, her wedding. I had to snap back to the moment before I got consumed in what the future awaits. I want to be there to take pictures....
Maybe the Celine Dion dvd I had playing in the background didn't help any with all the sad songs.......
P.S. the silver earring & necklace set belonged to Abby's great-great grandma. It is precious jewelry, but she was very easy with it, so that was special seeing it on her.

Roller Skating with Mimi and Abby
We went to a birthday party Sunday at the roller skating rink. I had not been on skates in Years! This was Abby's first time on skates. I was able to skate 1 time around before I decided to take the skates off. I didn't want to chance falling and busting my rump. We had a really good time. The birthday boy is on the left. This was the first time Abby met him. She went right up to him and took his hand. It was the sweetest thing. My son, Nate with his beautiful daughter, Abby. He's a pro at skating. He has played hockey since Jr. High. He had fun introducing skating to Abby.
