A Day At Mimi's

The boys spent part of the day at Mimi and Grampa's on Saturday. We made a home-made sandbox for the large bucket of Florida sand I brought back from my vacation to Sandestin Beach last month. I spread out a blanket on the front porch, since the grass was wet from all our rain and let the boys have at it. Gray was facinated by the feel of the sand and he had a ball scooping and digging for the sea shells I hid in the sand. Noah had more fun helping make the sandbox. Carter got bored right away and decided to just ride in the big red car.

Good-bye Dean!

My neice Dayna, and her fiancee Rob are getting married in 3 weeks in "Jamaica"......
They are glued to the weather channel watching as Hurricane"Dean" threatens their wedding site. My prayers are with them today and the days to come that their plans will go on without a problem. They also live near the Gulf, so I am also praying for their safety as well as my sister and other family members in Louisiana and Texas. They all bounced back after hurricane "Rita". My sister is in the background of this picture looking like a guardian angel...Love her! My nephew, Chad is also peeking in the background too...

Abby at the Beach

This is my little grand-daughter Abigail, just turned 5 months old. At Lake Michigan....she didn't know what to think when her daddy let her toes touch the water...she is such a little cutie pie....

Her mommy, Elsa & daddy, my son, Nate, wanted her to see the beach for the first time. She was facinated by the sand. Aren't they a beautiful family? My son is looking forward to the next child, but Elsa wants to wait a while, of course....She's smart!

My Grandkids....Bring me Joy

These are my "4" Grandchildren in action...Carter, Abby, Noah and Grayson. My daughter has the three energetic boys and my son has the sweet girl....These 4 little miracles bring me more joy than I can explain. Gray recently learned to say "Mee Mee" and it is so cute......Every time he see's a blue mini-van, he says Mee Mee, and Steph, my daughter says, when she passes a building at the end of her street, he says Mee Mee....something at that spot reminds him of me..who knows what? Another thing that Gray does which melts my heart is, when he comes to church, he runs as fast as his little legs can go to get to me on the stage, where I sing back-up. He moves his little arm up and down while running like he is pumping so hard to get to me. I have always been close to the boys and hope I have that closeness with Abby as well. My son loves to share with me all the new things she is doing and changes, such as teeth and giggling. He even called me while I was on vacation last week to let me hear her first giggle. I could go on and on about my favorite subject. Can you tell that I am a very happy MiMi?

I'm Back from Vacation

I am back from a Glorious Vacation with my sister, Diane. We had the best time and didn't waste one minute. We were up by 5:30 drinking coffee on our balcony overlooking the ocean and taking in every second. I celebrated my 51st Birthday and 33rd wedding anniversary this past week. By the way, thank you to everyone who sent me Birthday wishes. I was amazed and overwhelmed to read them all. There is too much to tell about my trip, but I will be posting lots of pictures so you can see for yourself how much fun we had.

Go Mimi, It's Your Birthday

This is
Steph here, taking over Mom's blog for the day- it's her birthday!

Mom, you don't look like you could really be 51 years old now, but I love how proud of your age you are. You're a wonderful example that life only gets better through the years, and age is just a number. You'll always and forever be a kid at heart.

So eat all the frosting off your birthday cake today!

I love you!

Throwback Thursday

I came across this picture even though it is not a way back throwback...it was taken Jan. 2006 while babysitting my grand-sons, Noah and Carter. My daughter came home and found us like this, so she grabbed her camera. I just love this picture of my 2 little angels. Gray must have been with his mommy & daddy....I would have had to stick him in the middle. I will try to put an oldie but goodie up next Throwback Thursday. Thanks pinks & blues girls for another fun Throwback Thursday!

My Family Table

These are our Family Table's. Lori at glass half full is hosting a Family Table assignment. Mike and I have dinner in the kitchen. I usually start dinner at 5:30, when I get home from work. He will not start eating until I sit down. He is very respectful and patient. Sometimes it takes a little longer for my food to cook since I try to follow the Weight Watcher's program, but he still waits until everything is finished before he starts eating. I remodelled our kitchen with a fun Fat Chef theme and really like being in my kitchen.

When our family comes for dinner, we sit in the dining room. We have the grown-ups table and the grand-kids table. I love being in the dining room cause it is a calm airy room.

I have to say
that when I was taking pictures for this post, I was cleaning up the kitchen table to make it look perfect, but really, it is perfect when the family is sitting around the table and we are saying Grace, holding hands and wiping up messes! Thanks Lori...this was fun!

Throwback Thursday - Unkie Nake

This is my son, Nate with my grand-son Noah, who is now 6 years old. He is a very Proud Uncle to his now 4 nephews...This is such a sweet picture with Noah's hand on Nate's cheek. He is also a very proud daddy to Abby, who is 4 months old. He loves to visit the toy stores and look for what he can get the boys. I still have all of Nates toys at my house that he had growing up, so now they are passed down to his nephews who are always saying "I love to play with Uncle Nake's toys"....so special...I told him when he has a boy, he can take all his toys back...
Don't forget to visit pinks & blues throwback thursday....they are the founder of this fun day.

Sunday, July 8, 2007

I had another fun filled weekend, starting at 5:30 on Friday. We took dinner to Woodland Park in our town with Steph and the grand-son's. They had so much fun playing. This is Gray behind a plastic bubble. Every time I would walk away from him, he would cry for me. This look says "I love you Meeee Meeee".........Noah had his tongue out in this picture of he and Carter on the space shuttle. The boys were so in awe of the skateboarders as we watched them do tricks before we left. I love Friday Summer evenings such as this...simple, but fun. Then, Saturday morning, I watched my little Abby girl so her mommy could work at her yard sale and her daddy went golfing.....Mike and I went to see Shrek 3 in the afternoon, then Abby came back over while her mommy and daddy went out for dinner...So like I said, it was a very busy Saturday. My kitchen floor needs some attention from being ignored, but who cares??? I have learned to not swet the small stuff and enjoy what is important, my family!
