Trust me blogging buddies, it does get harder to lose the weight the older you get. I was doing great all last week. I even got on the scale every morning to keep track of my progress, which I never do. I usually weigh at the beginning of the week. Well, by Friday morning, I had lost 4.5 lbs...hooray for me.....Then the weekend started and the gormet kettle corn was still in the cabinet calling my name and by just eating a few handfuls threw me off and gave me permission to indulge in other treats....see, that's how my warped mind works with food. I also had my grand-daughter Abby spend the night and it was like a celebration. I was finding things to make, such as chocolate covered strawberries and sugar free banana pudding with low fat nilla wafers. I guess it doesn't help the diet when you eat the cookies while making the pudding. It wasn't bad foods that I OD'd on. I over ate on the good stuff. I love baked BQ lays, but eating the whole bag in 2 days is a No No. So, why do I buy these foods when I know I have no self control? So, this morning I weighed and was down 1.5. I got back on track and am climbing that mountain again and I hope to reach the top soon, even though I did have a slice of pizza and a brownie to help celebrate a co-worker's birthday today. As for my sister, well, she had a set back but she's back on track with me and we will climb that mountain together. Watch out, cause "Sister Sizing" is back!

That photo is so cute. And next week will be a good one for you!
Steph
That is a cute picture. Yesterday and today were tough for me too. I had two students with birthdays, and they brought cookies and donuts, and then an older student from another class came with a cookie for me because it was her birthday. How do you refuse these children?! I HAD to eat the treats! I did walk/run today, and am trying to get back on track too. I don't weigh myself though. I go by how my clothes are fitting.
We can do it, Mimi!
I know what you are so talking about! I eat all healthy foods but I have got to remember to do portion control. You can do it Rhonda... Big (((HUGS)))
I can honestly say that I KNOW what you mean. I struggle, struggle, struggle. I was down 2.6 two weeks ago and I KNOW I am up when I go back this Saturday.
WE can do it!
I have been doing smoothies for breakfast and sometimes for lunch.
I have noticed that they've helped me feel a little bit better and fit into my clothes better too! I'm not all bloated. Yuck!
I've lost a couple pounds.
I really like em' because they're filling and really help me last through lunch. Or until snack time which is usually a baggie of grapes or a whole grain granola bar. I love Natures Valley Oats n' honey!
Love that photo. A loss is a loss! Good for you it was only a little lost time, good for you not allowing it to be all lost time!
I love the picture! It is super cute! You can do it Mimi!! (:
You have to watch for food addictions. I dearly love Lindts White Chocolate Truffles but I don't dare buy them. I can't even eat just one.
I know what you mean! AND the funny part is, when you keep trying it don't happen and when you stop, then it works! Well, that's me blabbing about my own weight issue- not that it's a real issue but heck I don't why I'm even blabbing about it! lol!!!
I find the biggest problem I am having is waiting to eat till my body actually tells me it needs something.....and then stopping when I am satisfied. And I do mean satisfied in my stomach and not my head.
But I am working it too...keep working...He will help.
Beginning any weight loss and exercise program is the hardest... mostly because we are hard on ourselves. BUT YOU DID BEGIN! And you are sticking with it. As consumers, we are inundated with "things" that appear in our cupboards, on our plates, in our refrigerators and freezers, on our highways and byways... the temptations are just everywhere. You are doing it exactly the right way. You live and love... you enjoy certain treats... but you still take steps up that mountain! Keep it going. You have a lotta support out here!!
