Lazy Saturday

I don't know what's wrong with me today. I feel so laaaazy....I woke up way too early and made a delicious breakfast of homemade waffles with strawberries. I thought that maybe the coffee would give me some energy. I crawled to get my laundry to start a load. I barely could squeeze the trigger to the Method bottle I use to clean the bathrooms. I am sitting here still in my P.J.'s and it is almost Noon. This is Not Me! I did do something productive in between all of the other stuff. I cleaned out my closet and sorted my clothes and got out my summer ones and put away the winter ones. I managed to fill a garbage bag with clothes I don't wear anymore to take to Goodwill. I just want to crawl back in bed and watch the Lifetime channel on t.v. and just lay like brocoli. But the guilt is getting to me as I write, so I am going to force myself in the shower and put on my new Disney T-shirt & Mickey Mouse ears that my daughter brought me back from her trip and make the most of this beautiful Saturday....I feel better already.... Thanks for listening...

The Mystery of the Missing Bracelet

So, I have this thing about me and bracelets...They like to fall off my wrist when least expected and end up in places that are most unusual. So, I wore this Lia Sophia bracelet to work yesterday and as I was typing, I looked at my wrist and noticed that it wasn't on my wrist. I retraced my steps in the office thinking it must be on the floor somewhere. So, I went in the restroom to do my business and as I was pulling down my pants, low and behold, the bracelet fell out of my underwear and landed in the toilet! I hear this Ker plunk as it hit the bottom of the toilet bowl. I could not believe it. Of course I fished it out and lathered it up real good to get all the germs off (luckily it fell in clean water).

The Biggest Loser Couples Final Week

We made it to the final week. It was not easy and I fell off the horse many times but got right back on. Thanks to my partner, my sis, I made it this far. Here goes our final weigh in for the show....I am really hoping to reach the 20 lb mark. I wonder who the Biggest Loser will be?
Drum Roll Please........
I lost 2.1 lbs.....Diane lost 1 lb. I was the biggest loser this week BUT.................
DIANE IS THE BIGGEST LOSER!!!! CONGRATS!!
Our total loss since the beginning of the show is 16.4 for me.....and 20.6 for Diane. I had to edit this post since originally posting it this morning.....I mis-calculated my total loss since starting Jan. 2. I had to make it right and give credit where credit is due. I am still happy with my progress and will continue on.
I am so proud of US. We are still going to continue losing, since we both have more we want to lose. We both will continue exercising by walking on our treadmills and using the exercise ball. I have a new goal. I will post our progress every now and then. I will be working on the next 20 lbs. Until then, thank you to everyone who has left an encouraging word along our journey. I will have new pictures of US in May, when my sister comes for a visit.CONGRATS TO ALI FOR WINNING THE BIGGEST LOSER ON T.V. SHE LOOKS AMAZING.

Happy Birthday Nate & Diane

Today is my son, Nathan's 28th birthday and my sister Diane's birthday too. I think it's neat that he was born on her birthday. I can remember going into labor on April 11th on my way to pick up a pizza. When I got home, I got my hospital bag and Mike and I headed to the hospital. I wasn't progressing too fast so they told me to walk around, which I did. I wanted to hold out until April 12th so he could be born on her birthday. He was born at 6:13 am and I can remember calling my sister and wishing her happy birthday and giving her my news that she had a nephew. She was excited. His wife Elsa's birthday is April 23, so we are celebrating both tomorrow. Nate requested that I make steak burritos. I will post pictures of the party. Happy Birthday Nate & Diane....Love you both.
Here is my sister, Diane at her home in Louisiana.....

The Biggest Loser Couples week 14

I will be glad when this show is over next week, cause maybe I won't be so stressed at facing those scales every Wednesday morning to report my good loss or bad loss. Why can't I have a steady weight loss? Why can't I pull numbers like Ali on the show....I can't believe she lost 12 lbs last week. Maybe it is because I don't have a trainer like Jillian. I am up 1 lb. down 1 lb. like a roller coaster ride. Maybe I shouldn't be eating celery with ranch dressing and pretzels for dinner, like last night. I should quit complaining and be glad for what I have lost so far and that I am healthier because of it and trying to make better choices. Having my sister as a partner has been very motivating. When I am down, she picks me up and same for her, when she is down, I pick her up.
Weigh in time.....
Drum Roll Please.......
I gained 1 lb. Diane Lost 1 lb. Diane is the biggest loser this week.....Hooray for her. That brings our totals to 18.5 lost so far for me and 19.6 lost for Diane. I would love to hit the 20 lb loss mark next weigh in. I know I can do it....Gonna try very hard to meet that goal. Until then, I could sure go for a deep dish cheese pizza....NOT

Sunday Afternoon Concert in Chicago

Mike and I went to see Celtic Women at the Auditorium Theater in beautiful downtown Chicago. We rode the Southshore train instead of fighting the traffic. We only had 1 block to walk to get to the concert. It was a fabulous concert and our seats were great. Mike was excited when they announced a surprise group to start the show. An Irish male group called "The high kings" sang and were really entertaining. They are going on tour with the Celtic Women to open for them. This was our second time in 1 year seeing the Celtic Women. Would you believe I didn't ask anyone to take our picture? On the way home, we ended up standing most of the way on the train. It wasn't too bad cause we met a very nice couple that we chatted with while standing. We should have only been charged half price for not having a seat. We finally got to sit down as people were getting off. It was a very relaxing time for us and I think Mike enjoyed his Birthday present. If you ever have a chance to go hear these groups, it is well worth it....you will be entertained and leave feeling very good.

million dollar letter

My precious little Grandson Noah, mailed me this letter on his fancy paper to my work. I open the mail at work and when I saw the envelope with the star wars postage stamp on it, addressed to MiMi, my heart melted. My Grandson was thoughtful enough to write me a letter, even though we see each other at least one time per week, sometimes more. Words can't describe how I feel. To know that I am loved this much puts everything in perspective. I have so many material wants, but really, this is all that matters to me right now. This child took the time to express his love for his MiMi and this is worth a million dollars to me.....

The Biggest Loser Couples week 13

Last week my sister and I took a little Spring break from the biggest loser, but we still watched what we ate and exercised. I can't believe we have been at this for 13 weeks now. Let's see how we did....
Drum Roll Please......................................
I lost 4 1/2 lbs. Diane lost 2 lbs. That makes me the biggest loser this week.....Hooray.....But no one is going home! I am so proud of us.
That brings our totals lost to: 19.5 for me , and 18.6 for Diane.
I almost fainted when I saw my number....I am only 9 lbs away from the goal I set for myself by Memorial Day. I resisted a lot of high calorie foods this past week and chose other alternatives, and it really paid off.
Last night we watched the Biggest Loser and after it was off, my sister and I chatted via webcam and talked each other into getting on the treadmill to do our Last Chance Workout for at least 10 min. before bedtime....well....I walked on the treadmill for 20 min. and did 50 sit-ups on the large ball. I think this really helped me this morning with my weigh-in..... This picture was taken last March when my sister was here for a visit. She will be coming for a visit May 17 thru Memorial Day. I will post our After picture then....I am on the left, Diane on the right.....
