"Throwback Thursday"

This is the Gospel Teen's singing group I was in when I was 16 years old....back in the early 70's. I am the fourth from the left...tallest one in the middle. My sister, Diane, our piano player is next to the guy at the end. We travelled around nearby cities and even won awards. We had our outfits special made, polyester!!! This was such a fun time in my life.
Thanks Pinks & Blues for the fun Throwback Thursday's......check theirs out.

This is my "Little Carter Bear", grandson, enjoying a Pasta meal when he was a baby. He would really get in to his food....he still does! He loves my mashed potatoes and gravy, actually they are (Bob Evans microwavable ones) He also loves pizza with black olives. He is really growing up too fast...He will be 5 years old in just a few weeks. Love him! Here he is all cleaned up....

Throwback Thursday, Too cute for words!

This is my little Gray from last year. He was a chunky monkey....Look how red his hair looked! I just love these poses of him. He is going thru this phase of wanting me to hold him when we are together (which I don't mind, of course)...when I get out of his sight, he crys for me...He just started saying my name on Father's Day....Mee Mee, like a horse sound. Love him!

41 Days until my "Sister" Vacation in Florida

This is our vacation spot the last week of July...Sandestin Florida. My sister and I will be sitting under the beach umbrella's sipping a tropical drink with a little umbrella in it....non-alcohol, of course......probably people watching.
I am looking so forward to this vacation. I will be celebrating my 51st Birthday while I am there. My sister and I live 1,159 miles apart and we have longed for a vacation, just us two...our dream is finally coming true! I will fly from Chicago to her city, then we will hop in her car and drive the 7 hours to our destination. I think we will turn our cell phones off and just enjoy the paradise.

Happy Father's Day Dad

My dad is one of a kind. When they made him, they threw away the mold. I have always been a daddy's girl. He would do anything for us, within reason. He always made sure we got up on Sunday morning in time for church. He would blow a bugle sound with his mouth to wake us up and it sounded like the real thing. My dad worked shift work for many years before retiring. He always made sure we had what we needed. I wanted to wish him a Happy Father's Day and tell him that I love him.

Happy Father's Day to my Husband

My husband, Mike, took me to breakfast this morning. It was nice to just sit and talk and not have to be on a schedule. He's the type of person that wants you to make the decision as to where to eat. He will mention 5 places but wants me to pick. I try to always pick his favorite place because I like to please him. He is a hard worker and I appreciate him so much. He is the thinker in the family and keeps me on the right road. I guess we compliment one another. I just wanted to wish him a Happy Father's Day, even though we are empty nester's. (except for our 2 little doggies.) P.S. this picture was taken before leaving for a Celtic Women concert...his and my favorite singers. I find it funny, he knows all the names of the women in the group....

A Field of Sunflowers

This is a favorite picture of my daughter Steph and her little boy, Gray. This was taken at the
Sunflower Festival last fall. It looked like the field of sunflowers went on forever. We had fun
just listening to a band play, sitting on bales of hay and eating ice cream cones. It's the simple
things in life that mean the most.

WACKY WEDNESDAY

This is my grandson, Carter at about age 8 months. His daddy did the graphics to make him look like his Grampy Wilson. He framed the picture to give him as a gift. This is actually Grampy's glasses and mustache that Jeff took from a picture to put on Carter's picture.

Beautiful Flower

A flower has a way of putting a smile on your face. Today I took the time to look around at the beauty of God's creation. A simple thing as a flower can change the mood you are in. I just wanted to give Thanks for everything God has given to us. I am so glad that I can call on him when I need him. He is always there. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Psalm 107 vs.1

My Mom (Great Grandma)

My mom is a very special lady. I came across this picture of her holding my grand-daughter, Abigail, taken on Mother's Day this year. She is such a giving person and has worked hard all of her life to give my sister, brother and myself a good life growing up. Even though she wasn't a stay at home mom, we still grew up knowing our mom loved us and was always there for us. She would rather give than receive. I am just thankful that I still have my mom around and she has been a blessing to me. My husband has a saying that fits her, he says she is one "classy lady". Go Mom, you still look great at 70 something!

My Saturday Bargain

I went to a moving sale that my friend was having yesterday. I came across this bargain...It is over 100 years old. I just fell in love with it cause I like antiques. But you won't believe the bagain price I paid for it! $5.00!!!! I really don't want to refinish it cause I like the looks of it. It needs new hinges on the door, but other than that, I think I will just clean it up and use it as a night stand next to the bed...what do you think?

My daughter over at Adventures in Babywearing is having this contest to win a $50.00 gift certificate. Check it out and enter to win. Go to vincent shoes and check out the adorable styles. Just click your heels together and make a wish, you just might win....
I am hoping to win to get these girlie shoes for my grand-daughter, Abigail.

Mimi's little Men

Yesterday I picked up my grandson's Noah and Carter to bring them home with me after work. They are growing up so fast. I was stopping at McDonald's to get them dinner. When I pulled in to the Portage McDonald's, they were both sad and saying that this was NOT their McDonald's. Theirs was by Target, the town they live in. Noah was in tears because he didn't want a Shrek toy in his happy meal. He said HIS McDonald's has different toys in happy meals. Anyways, when we got home to my house, they were happy to see that the food was the same.
I just love being with the boys...they really cheer you up at the end of a long day. They are leaving on a road trip to Colorado Saturday and I already miss them.....P.S. They love to play dress up, they don't always dress like this!
