Starting over

I am making a fresh start. I have neglected my health lately and have not been following doctors orders where my blood pressure is concerned. After getting the scare at the eye dr. on Friday, I made the appt. to see my general doctor today and she put me back on meds for the high blood pressure and wants me to monitor my blood pressure for 3 weeks, then come back to get further testing done. Like she told me, I have to be well to take care of other people. I know what I need to do, it is just keeping up with it. I hope eveyone had a happy Monday.

You are too precious not to take care of yourself! We love you!

Big (((HUGS))). I know we often forget about ourselves while we are helping others. But its time to slow down and pick our own selves up so we will indeed be here for our loved ones to cherish and grow with!

Sometimes we are given the greatest messages... and I think this is what happened to you. Breathe deeply, assess what you need to do to get yourself on-track for great health, and then take steps in that direction. The love of your family is what will carry you forward... but the love of yourself will get you started. I am a happy friend for you tonight to know that YOU KNOW what must be done!

Dearest Rhonda... You mean to world to me. I know not many of us "boomers" are in this on-line blog world, but I feel so fortunate to have you, and to hear about and feel and love you and your family. We do have concerns that we, as older women, understand... and it is like a little miracle to be able to share these concerns. Because of you, I have already made my next physical examination, and my eye exam (and my husband's!) is next week. Supporting and reminding each other of these things will even be fun!!!! You are a wonderful, wonderful person...

Good for you! You are so giving, take a few minutes to do some things for yourself.

You can do it, Rhonda. Take the time to take care of yourself, and when others offer to help you (or take care of you) let them!

I am proud of you for taking a step back and realizing that you need to take care of yourself. I think it is hard for all of us, especially for women, because we get in the mindset of taking care of others that we forget that we need to take care of ourselves! I know I am most definitely guilty of it, as I write this, I realize that I'm several months overdue for a dentist appointment. Thanks for the reminder that I need to start over, too.

Take your MEDS!
I have to keep on Keith about his blood pressure medicine. It is for your good.
Take care of Mimi...no one else can do this for you.

Good for you. I'm often bad about neglecting what I need to do to keep me running well, all in the effort to be taking care of my people--but I can't take care of them very well if I'm a mess. Good wisdom from you, good reminder--

Blessings!
