Missing the sand

My body is here in NWI but my mind and spirit is on this Beach in Florida where I spent 6 glorious days in June. I guess you could say I'm a dreamer. I love the warm sand between my toes. These Crocs have been thru 3 trips to this beach. I don't plan on retiring them any time soon. Where does your mind and spirit take you today? I would love to know.

I miss the beach, too! I haven't been to the beach since my honeymoon in 2005!

Hugs to you. Hope you have a great week!

Ah... my mind goes to Bar Harbor, Maine. One of the most wonderful vacations Barry and I ever took is to Bar Harbor. It is a 6-hour drive from us, and we kind of just picked Bar Harbor because it didn't involve a train or bus or plane. Just straight up RT. 95 North. We wanted a little seaside place for a couple of days to relax. Well, we found paradise! Bar Harbor is glorious... it has a beautiful village/Main Street with tons of quaint shops and restaurants and bars... very adult AND kid friendly. It has Acadia National Park, a short bus ride away... where you could spend WEEKS exploring. We took the bus tour and got off at every beautiful stop to explore. Cadillac Mountain, the top of world, looks right over the little town and is the first place the sun arises in the northeast. Spectacular! We chose a hotel on a whim... and it was right on the harbor with a beautiful pool and overlooking the harbor and beyond. We went on a sunset cruise on a sailboat. We went lobster fishing on a lobster boat (the same boat and captain was featured on Good Morning America that same summer... the summer of '07!). We were a little too "chicken" to go whale watching... but boats came in and out all day long. The early morning, the afternoon and the nights were filled with fresh air and happiness and friendly people. We spent lots of time exploring the actual BAR that gives Bar Harbor its name... a sandbar that is visible and huge and walkable at low tide but that is completely covered at high tide. The natives laugh at the tourists who get stranded on the island on the other side of the bar at high tide because they didn't LISTEN to the locals!! Our big dream is to take all our kids and grandkids to Bar Harbor... maybe, hopefully next summer. Fingers crossed. That is what I am thinking about today!! Thanks for asking!!

Sad to say, I didn't get to the beach this summer (yet! there is always hope for a trip to the dunes!) But we have a pool, so I've lounged poolside most of the summer. I too love to sit as the waves wash ashore, toes stuck in the warm sand. Very thought provoking.

My daughter has those same Crocs. They are the cutest. I love taking pictures like that. The beach is just relaxing and there is just something different about being on the beach that is no stress at all.

I love these pictures and those crocs and I'm going to look for similar ones!
The pictures are whimsical and fun and evoke feelings of summers and vacations.
I'd like to be somewhere vacationing with my entire family at the same time. It wouldn't matter where we were as long as everybody could be there. That's my version of paradise!
