Very Rewarding 6 Mile Walk!

Yesterday, I felt like the "The Little Engine that Could" while walking the 6 miles for the March of Dimes beside my new blogger buddy, Bacardi Mama. I felt so honored to be a part of this Team, with Beth and her awesome family and friends to remember her precious twins, James & Jake and other precious babies who left this world too soon. Each step I took, I felt like it was a step of hope and love for every baby who, with the money raised will be able to have a start at life and grow up to be healthy. The love that was felt by everyone is hard to put into words. It was a Beautiful Sunday!
I hope she doesn't kill me but I think she looks pretty darn good from the back. (sorry Nancy)This was my view for the last few miles of the walk when I felt like the Little Engine that Could. The purple arm in the picture is a friend we met at the beginning of the walk and really enjoyed her company. She was walking for another team but latched on to us and we were glad she did. Go to Beth's blog and check out all of the other 100's of pictures that Crooked Eyebrow and other's took. I've never seen so many cameras going at one time. I also wanted to say that it was a special day to share with my daughter, Steph & grand-daughter, Ivy.

Okay, so I don't look as bad from the back as I thought I did. Not great, but maybe shredding is helping. From the front, that's another story. I almost died when I saw these pictures last night. I know it was windy, but I looked really bad. So, I got my hair cut last night. I think it looks better. I loved walking with you and finally meeting you in person!

You're very welcome for the donation. I was very happy to do it. After I did, though, I realized that you probably wouldn't know who I was (seeing as how I used my real name) and I meant to comment on one of your posts to let you know who it was. Oops!

Life has been very busy and I haven't had much blogging time. I read what other people have been writing real quick and that's about it. I need to get a new post up sooner than later. I'm so glad you had a good day at the walk. I know Mom was excited to finally meet you. Enjoy the rest of your day :)

How awesome that you all did this! We had our walk here in NC yesterday as well. Our walk was only 3.1 miles though. So wonderful to hear other people across country doing this for the babies :).

Sarah and I felt like the little engine that could, too! Carrington tried to get us to slow down at one point, and we told her that if we slowed down, we were afraid we wouldn't get started again! We were really pushing toward the end, but every step was worth it.

You all are heroic women for not only your 6 miles, but for your hearts and souls, too. You begin to think how much this new technology has impacted our lives and the people we meet... and are somehow able to help in small and in BIG ways. Your pledges are equaled by your great love and concern and caring, and that is truly incredible. I bow to you today... !
